As part of the President's initiatives and plans to improve IT infrastructure and expand electronic government (e-Gov), federal agencies are looking for ways to enhance their IT capabilities and streamline their inter-departmental activities. Once implemented, the refurbished IT infrastructure should improve coordination among the various departments of the federal government, as well as among other state and local government agencies, besides providing better service to citizens and businesses. To ensure fulfillment of its IT initiatives and goals, the federal government must make certain that systems are developed, maintained, enhanced, and operated at the highest level of performance.

In looking to the future, Avineon is examining such promising technologies as machine intelligence, mobile computing, advanced visualization tools and models integration, lightweight command and control, advanced information assurance, and cloud computing. Specific projects include automating instrument flight procedures development; applying ship modeling, simulation, and human-system integration methodologies; implementing computer-aided design and engineering techniques in the defense infrastructure; optimizing the geographic distribution and application of military health care resources and facilities; and training personnel on the use of state-of-the-art GIS technologies.

Protection of the homeland has become one of the federal government’s most visible, significant, and successful missions. Avineon is at the forefront of these efforts providing a range of critical technical support and solutions in the areas of emergency management and response, cyber security, border protection and immigration services, law enforcement systems, identity assurance, and overall systems life cycle management. To encourage rapid and flexible response to the changing requirements that characterize the homeland security sector, we focus on iterative and incremental development in which solutions evolve through collaboration and cross-functional teams.

Along with our successful tenure as a prime contractor on the Enterprise Acquisition Gateway for Leading Edge Solutions (EAGLE) contract, we also support the homeland security mission through our Avineonics enterprise solution, a comprehensive suite of emergency preparedness and incident management tools that enable timely access to the accurate information essential for readiness and an effective response to threats and attacks.
